The long-awaited new website for Environmental Health & Safety has launched today!
If you've visited the EH&S site in recent months, you may have noticed that it looked a little dated. In addition to running an older version of Drupal, the site's layout, design, and functionality were all a bit behind the bulk of GT's sites. After some initial work from a contractor, the webteam took over the site earlier this spring, taking it through several rounds of content and design edits.
There are plenty of updates on both the front- and back-end, but a few standout features are:
- Design: The new and improved site has a more intuitive layout, updated graphics and icons, and a format that's more in line with current Georgia Tech site branding.
- Accessibility: The new site's layout features an information architecture that's better for assistive technologies like screen readers.
- Responsiveness: The strange icon and form sizing has been fixed, making mobile browsing easier.
We also recognize that there will likely be some old content on the previous site that team may decide they need at a later date; to that end, we've stored a copy of the previous site in a sandbox, and will keep it for six months (just in case.) Take a look at the new site, and email us with any suggestions for further improvements.
