In the course of our ongoing efforts to expand the GT Profile project into three distinct profile installations—GT Slim, GT Standard, and GT Full—we have encountered a significant issue that has temporarily impeded our progress. This affects both the in-development profile as well as the current production profile (e.g 4.0.8).
The issue arises when using GT Installer to establish a website. The installer encounters an error during the phase that installs the profile and associated dependencies. This doesn't mean your website won't be successfully set up; but it does disrupt the process, forcing GT Installer to fail, and it will not supply the you with an admin username or password.
This issue is not unique to us. Several other Drupal users have recently reported encountering a similar problem. We suspect this is attributable to a recent update to Drupal or a core module.
We're actively monitoring the situation and look to resolve this issue as soon as possible. We'll promptly release an update once a resolution is presented. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.
Addendum: It appears this issue is more widespread than we'd suspected, though how widespread I'm not sure. In any event, this appears to be the relevant issue on drupal.org. Follow the issue for updates and to make sure they know we're watching — Fletch
